OOC RULES

I. AGE UP Our site is not so super adult that it hurts. Nope, as a Vampire site we expect there to be some youngsters interested in things, but we want to make it VERY clear that this site is for people who are 15+. We allow explicit content up to a point, and though we know some youngsters are mature for their age and can deal with discussions about wangs and hungry vampires drinking all your blood, we don't want proboards to get sued for exposing precious darlings to our super fun happy place. So, again, 15+ !

II. ACCOUNT PER CHARACTER Your username will be your character's name. Please make sure to CAPITALIZE the character's name please. You can easily switch between characters without ever having to logout thanks to proboards account switcher.

III. KEEP YOUR IC DRAMA, IC Sometimes people will hold grudges and hate each other OOC just because someone did a thing IC which was nothing personal. The drama that results is really not worth it. If Billy Bloggs punched your character and set fire to him IC, it doesn't mean Joe Poke hates you OOC. Ultimate rule of thumb - be mature. The point of a roleplay isn't to "win" or be worshiped by all the other characters.

IV. DON'T BE AN ASS There are good days and bad days in everyone's life and that's totally cool. However, we do ask that if you can't tolerate people who voice ideas and values that differ from your own, if you tend to feel the insatiable urge to point out that someone on the internet is wrong, or are just going to be a raging bigot, that you just go and sit down in a bowl full of sulfuric acid and don't join the site. We do not tolerate abusive, generally shitty behaviour. If you really have a problem with something or someone, don't even PM them in private about it. Talk to an admin.

V. BIG BOY PANTS: ON In a similar vein, don't act like a 2 year old being fed broccoli if you walk into an OOC area (be it the cbox or elsewhere) and find someone is talking about sex, genitals, or other "mature" subjects. This is an 15+ site after all, so we're going to be chatting about generally mature subjects. If mature subjects really bother you that much, this may not be the site for you.

VI. BE CONSIDERATE Really it sucks that we have to mention this, but it needs to be said just in case. Don't use OOC forums or cbox to talk about triggering subjects. Or at the very least please give warning if you are going to talk about it. Whilst mature conversation is totally allowed, we really don't want to spring that kind of surprise on sensitive members.

VII. NOT YOUR PERSONAL MESSAGING SYSTEM Whilst some people don't have skype or AIM and others might have one but not the other, we please, please ask for all members to be considerate when it comes to the cbox. Don't have a personal conversation between you and a friend in the cbox, excluding everyone else. Take that to PMs or skype or whatever; leave the cbox as an all-inclusive place for people who want to hang out with the site community.

VIII. DISCRETION IS THE NAME OF THE GAME If someone has really yanked your chain, or you're furiously unhappy with something on site, it's probably best for everyone if you don't start a hate campaign in the cbox. Instead, quietly message an admin with your "beef" and we'll try and fry it up and make it something a bit more edible. Get it? Beef... edi... never mind. Anyway, if you're just fighting loudly at each other all the time it doesn't actually fix anything, and can cause even bigger problems, so get an admin involved and we'll do what we can to fix the problem.

IC RULES

YOU ARE NOT OMNIPRESENT AKA don't metagame. It's totally fine to read other people's threads, but what isn't cool is using that information in posts with your characters. If your character wasn't there, and hasn't been told about it by someone, then no, you cannot use said information. Otherwise you're meta-gaming or godmoding and no one likes anyone who does that. This also applies to using other types of information your character wouldn't logically have, such as always using moves that have a type advantage regardless of what your character's knowledge of the world would be, and so on.

CONTENT RULES Lets keep this short and sweet. Swear as much as you like, though we're not huge fans of the C word. You can make out with people and touch genitals together but once it starts getting penetrative we'd like a fade to black. If you REALLY need to write out a full bang scene then take it to messenger. Likewise, stab, shoot and punch each other, but if it starts getting excessively gory, take it down a peg. Any explicit content WILL need to be marked with the Explicit Tag, so don't forget that.

PLOT POLITENESS There's nothing worse than making a plot happen then it going totally wrong. For this reason, we ask that if this is going to be a site wide plot, that you inform the admins. This generally is any type of plot that will effect a large number of people or change mechanics or site lore. We also ask that if you're plotting, that you keep everyone in the loop at all times. No one likes to be surprised with the plot suddenly changing or involving something new, so be kind and social.

NAGGING DOESN'T MAKE YOU FRIENDS Begging for the following will not endear you to the site or to anyone else, so we suggest you don't; acceptances, People to thread with, an admin to look at your app. We'll get to you when we can so don't turn the cbox into a begging circle. Likewise, try to give people some time to do their replies. If you feel like they've totally forgotten the thread, try tagging them again in the tagbox.
